Our Founder

On June 14, 2025, I received the greatest gift imaginable—a second chance at life through liver transplantation.

Like many transplant recipients, I spent my days focused on appointments, medications, procedures, lengthy hospital stays, and simply surviving. But what surprised me most wasn’t always the medical challenges. It was the little things that made an enormous difference.

A warm blanket during dialysis.

Noise-canceling headphones that quieted the constant alarms and helped calm my anxiety.

A comfortable place to rest.

Small comforts that made difficult days a little easier.

Not all recovery needs are medical. And the guilt of engaging in self-care while the medical expenses pile up is huge.

That realization became the beginning of LIV614 Project.

The name LIV614 is deeply personal. June 14 is my transplant anniversary—my “second birthday.” It marks the day my life was forever changed because of the extraordinary generosity of an organ donor and their family.

I celebrate that day with immense gratitude. At LIV614 Project, I hope we can help others celebrate their lives, too.

Our mission is simple: to provide comfort-focused support that helps liver transplant patients and their families navigate treatment and recovery with greater dignity, hope, and peace of mind.

Many organizations focus on helping patients survive. That work is incredibly important.

LIV614 Project exists to celebrate what comes next.

We believe healing isn’t only about medicine. It’s also about feeling seen, supported, and cared for. Sometimes that comes in the form of a blanket, a pair of headphones, a meal, a gift card for gas, a tablet stand, or another small act of kindness that allows someone to focus on healing instead of worrying about one more thing.

Every grant we award is a reminder that someone believes in your future.

None of this would be possible without the selfless gift of organ donation. I carry my donor’s gift with me every day, and I remain forever grateful to their family. While I may never know their name, I hope this organization honors their legacy by helping others experience the joy and possibility that a second chance can bring.

Thank you for being part of the LIV614 Project story.

Together, we’re celebrating every second chance.
